Summer Institutes
Summer Institute in Applied Linguistics
The Summer Institute in Applied Linguistics is an initiative of the Center for Language Acquisition that brings leading internationally-recognized scholars in applied linguistics to Penn State University (University Park Campus, State College, PA) to share their cutting-edge research by teaching courses in their area of specialization, delivering lectures, conducting workshops, and participating in formal and informal discussion groups. Courses are organized as 1-credit modules for which Penn State graduate credit can be earned and transferred to other institutions. Over a four-week period, approximately thirty courses are offered in addition to invited plenary lectures. Participants may earn up to six graduate credits.
During the summers of 2002, 2005 and 2009, the Center for Language Acquisition hosted Summer Institutes in Applied Linguistics. For information about past Summer Institutes, click here.
