The TELL Initiative (Technology Enhanced Language Learning) is supported by the College of Liberal Arts, CAC, and hosted and run by Penn State's Center for Language Acquisition (CLA). The TELL Initiative seeks to critically expand the use of technology in basic foreign language education, to contribute to instruction in advanced literature and culture courses, and to support ESL education.

Through the TELL website, faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students will have access to an ever expanding repository of research, pedagogical approaches, activities, tools, and materials, concerning how to critically use internet and computer technologies for teaching and learning language.

The TELL portion of the CLA web-site currently houses academic information for language instructors and students including:

  • annotated bibliographies of computer assisted language learning research
  • links to journals, conferences, and professional organizations
  • in-depth evaluations of language software
  • in-depth internet activities for multiple foreign languages
  • archived technology workshops for language classes
  • links to radio stations in six languages
  • podium overview for language labs in Sparks
  • links to other campus technology support pages
