Jim Lantolf, was named as a Yangze River (Changjiang) Scholar in the School of Foreign Studies at Xi’an Jiaotong University, beginning in 2015. The award, which is for a three-year period, is the highest academic award issued to an individual in higher education by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. While the award is not typically given to international scholars a few are selected each year.
